Monthly Progress Report - November 2014

Let the battle for money begin!
It is time once again to tally up the numbers from the previous month and account for all of the fun that was had.  It feels like I've only done this a couple of times, but here we are together again.  November was quite a month for me.  Even though, in the grand scheme of things, not a whole lot of total deposits were made, it was a pretty good chunk for me.  I have to always remind myself that I can only do what I can do and not weigh my performance against others. In the same thought, it is wonderful to gain inspiration from others and I thank so many other bloggers out there who have shared their successes, blunders and insights throughout the past month.  In any event, here is how the Dummy fared:

Deposits

I continued to make deposits in my cash accounts as well as add to my Lending Club and Loyal3 accounts.  In other news, I started a brokerage account to get a hold of opportunities I could not grab in Loyal3.  Here is a summary:

  • $200 in emergency savings
  • $800 also into savings - but this is earmarked for buying tires as I anticipate I'll need some this coming year for the overly expensive truck
  • $200 into Lending Club
  • $200 into Loyal3 utilizing credit card payments before they took it away
  • $1298.65 in purchases through a new brokerage account
  • Made $240 deposit into my work's tax-deferred 457 plan
  • Made $150 deposit into our tax-deferred IRA
My picks were sometimes a little out there.  I'm hoping to reel my conscious back down to earth in the coming months.

Passive Income

Another month where the winners were cash interest and Lending Club interest.  I did receive a $2.01 div from my 457, but there is a monthly $2 fee (net gain of 1 penny).  I'll see most dividends come through for both retirement accounts quarterly.  A grand total of $22.79 in passive income!  You can see the numbers below.  I have also updated my portfolio page.

I added a page about Lending Club.  This houses my version of a summary and will eventually hold a list of my monthly LC updates.  Stay tuned for an update for Nov!

Thanks

Thanks again for all the inspiration.  Keep those good ideas and constructive critiques coming.

Here's hoping everybody has a good holiday season.  Be good, invest well and may your dividends be plentiful!
